I have William McAllister and his family in Louisa in the 1760s.
William's will in Louisa is dated 1764 and mentions his children:
(1)John McAllister (under age at time of will)
(2)Garland McAllister (under age at time of will) - later married Sara Banks of Wake Co,
NC & died there in 1785
(3)James McAllister - married Winefred Allen (sister of my ancestor, Samuel Allen) James
died in Louisa (LOUISA CO, VA, Will Book 2, p. 459; Will Book 3, P. 76 & 462). His
children were: Nathaniel McAllister, Elizabeth McAllister, Rachel McAllister & James
Garland McAllister
(4)Ann/Hannah McAllister married Thomas Thomasson
(5)Mary McAllister m. Samuel Allen - lived in Louisa until around 1775-1780 when they and
their children moved to Granville Co, NC
(6)William McAllister
(7)Alexander McAllister
I'm trying to find info on this McAllister family. Was William the immigrant? Where did he
come from? Where did the other children go?
