  • HENSLEE, HENSLEY, HORNER, LEE, MATLOCK, SNEED posted by Sandra Wortham on Tuesday, June 1, 1999
  • Email: rwortham@flash.net

Searching related family names of MATLOCK, Henslee & Sneed which are found in Louisa Co. My ancestor John Matlock 1686-1785 died in Louisa Co. We are descended from 2nd wife Mary LEE; 3rd wife Anne survived him (1st wife Hannah HORNER). We are descended from their son Wm; some other children were Isaac, Geo., Thomas, John, Mary, Agnes, Zachariah & David. My Maxfield HENSLEE (sometimes spelled HENSLEY in these older records) was born abt. 1725 in what is now Hanover Co. A Maxfield witnessed a deed 1752 in Louisa Co. & owned land there in 1763, (just west of Hanover). There are also references of Sneeds in Louisa; our Maxfield married Martha SNEED abt. 1752; she was probably British. Any clues, additions, other descendants interested in sharing info??
