I am still searching for origin of Josiah C. Sanner, tavern/hotel keeper, shown on one census to have been born in Madison County. Search of the Madison Library and Courthouse have turned up nothing with the exception of an Anna Sanors who gave permission for her daughter to marry and the indenture of an Isaac Sanner for five years to be a wheelwright. I have noted that Ancestry.com and a major index have listed him as Tanner. Additionally he was in Shenandoah County according to the 1840 Census. I found no Sanners, thus far, but did find a Danner Hotel and folks named Danner and Tanner. Can anyone help with Josiah?
