LEWIS/TIMBERLAKE - I am searching for any information on Easter (Esther) Timberlake (wife) or Isaac Newton Lewis from Green Spring or Trevilians. My grandmother, Mary Ella Lewis Nuttall was their daughter b. 8/30/1914. According to family lore, Isaac beat Easter to death circa 1924. Mary was sent from Louisa to Washington, DC to live with her maternal aunt. I have been unable to find anything on Easter or Isaac after the 1920 census. I was wondering if there was any news item or other information which could verify this family story.

Elmer and Susie VEST moved to Louisa county from Nelson county. I'm not sure when. He died in 1970 in Louisa. I would love to have a copy of his obit. Their children born in late 1920's and early 1930's might still be living in the county. They would be in late 70's. Otha, Elmer Jr. and Hilda. Thanks, Lorene

  • TATE posted by Dr. Thomas P. Davis on Sunday, March 4, 2007

Tate - Loring F TATE is the 10 yo daughter of William Meredith Tate in the 1880 Louisa County census, Jackson District, sheet 22A, line 19. She is never listed again under that name. Does anyone know if she married or passed away in the period 1880-1900? I have a lot more about this family if anyone is interested. Tate - Charles B Tate is 7 in 1880 and 37 in 1910 in Louisa County. He is still single and living with his parents. William, his father is not listed after 1910 and has likely passed away. Any idea what happened to Charles B Tate? Tate - Oteria A Tate is the 3 yo daughter of William Meredith Tate in 1880. She is with him in 1900 (23 yo) but is not there in 1910. Once again, married or dead? I will be wandering up to the courthouse but hoped someone might know. Thanks.

TERRY, Calvin married SANNER, Frances in 1854 in Louisa. She was the dau of Josiah Sanner; her brother Joseph was witness at their marriage. I found the following census records: 1870 Fredericks Hall, Louisa Co., VA Caswell or Calvin Terry 40 Farmer VA Frances 40 VA Joseph 08 VA Moses 06 VA Jane 04 VA and 1880 United States Federal Census > West Virginia > Cabell > Huntington > District 16>9th Street Calvin S.Terry age 49 yrs. b. N.C. about 1831 locomotive engineer Frances A. age 45 b. Va. Children: Joseph P. 21 b. N.C. fireman John H. 18 b. VA Gertude 12 b. Va. Also living in home: John ADKINS age 6yrs--Nephew These may be the Calvin and Frances cited above. Frances had a sister, Louisa, marred Benjamin F. ATKINS. I have wondered if the above John Adkins could be the son of Louisa. Does anyone have any information on Calvin's birth, parents, burial, etc? Was he related to other Terrys in the county or a transplant? All information on this family is welcome. Thanks. Glynda
